Blake's 1st Day of 1st Grade

Blake started 1st Grade at Fern Bluff Elementary on Monday.  His teacher's name is Mrs. Skinner and he loves her.  She's been teaching first grade for 15 years so I think she knows what she's doing.  His good friend from Stepping Stone is in his class so he is very excited.

Granny's 80th Birthday

My Granny turned 80 this month!  We had a big celebration in Naples, FL and almost her entire family was there to help  her celebrate.  All 10 of her oringinal grandchildren were there and considering we are spread out from Minnesota, Texas, Illinois and Florida that is pretty good.

Here are 5 of the 6 great granddaughters.  I love this picture!

Happy Birthday Granny!

This might be my favorite part of the night.  Gramps came out in full hula gear to dance for Granny.  It was hilarious!  He was a great sport about it.

My cousin Aaron and I.  We hadn't seen each other in over 3 years and it was so special to catch up with him and his beautiful wife.

Port Aransas

Last weekend we had our first trip to the Texas coast.  We spent a couple nights in Port Aransas with some friends of ours.  We had a wonderful time!

Here is our view from the balcony

I loved the look on Drew's face.  This is them watching Shark week on TV.  No wonder Drew didn't want to get in the ocean.

Drew loved chasing the birds and Blake loved being in the waves.

San Antonio Drum Corp

Here are some pictures from our balcony.  It was a perfect location right on the river walk and very close to the Alamodome (which is where the drum corp took place).

The boys were so excited to get to ride one of the boats on the River Walk

This is the fun McDonald's that we went to for breakfast.  There were two stories to it so the boys thought that was pretty neat.

This is right outside of where the drum corp took place.  Drew loved getting to see the train.

This is what he thought of the brass ensemble.

Look, the boys are almost as tall as the Tower of the Americas!

Up top, the boys thought it was pretty cool to be so high up.  They loved the glass elevator that took us up to the top.

Kirsten, Pat and Livi's 4th of July visit

To celebrate the 4th of July Kirsten, Pat and Livi came to visit.  We feel so spoiled to get to see them twice in one month.  Of course, we know that means it will be a really long time until we get to see them again now.
