Thoughts for Thursday...

So much has happened today as far as milestones that I couldn't wait to tell you all.......
OK, so not really milestones, but Blake swam the whole width of our neighborhood pool!! I think he is getting it! As for Drew,  I found him on top of his changing table today.  He actually did need to be changed, but I wasn't really expecting him to climb up there himself.  Time to start potty training I guess.  Also, something that Drew does that I think is really funny is that he calls Micky Mouse "hot dog."  For any of you that have seen The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, you know that they have a song they sing at the end that goes something like this...."hot dog hot dog hot diggity dog..." I don't actually know the rest but there is dancing involved and the boys love it.  I think after enough times of watching it, Drew thought that Mickey's name was Hot Dog.  I'm sure he's is going to figure it out soon and stop calling him that so I thought I'd better write it down so I don't forget :)
Drew is so proud of his climb.
Poor Rudy.  First a truck crashed in to him and then Drew continued to cover him with lovies.  What a great dog!!

Blake's t-ball started back up on Tuesday.  He did awesome once he actually got enough courage to go out on to the field.

Labor Day

Drew loved sitting in the tiger if it was out of water, but was scared to death of it in the water.
Blake was being bashful with Livi

Livi had no problem lounging

I was too slow, but the goat that is running had just been standing on the table 1 second before I took this picture.
The kids loved the goats
Blake learned how to swing recently and now loves the swings
She is just too cute!!

Flood

***Don't worry I will post labor day pictures soon.  I know you'd much rather see those pictures than these, but I'm kind of fascinated by the amount of destruction that can occur from storms.

Here are some pictures we took last night of our trail near our house.  Tropical Storm Hermine dumped huge amounts of rain in Austin and this little creek just couldn't handle it.  These pictures can't even begin to show how much flooding there was.  Down the street from this area there is a little pond and playground picnic shelter, etc.. The whole shelter is under water, all you can see is the roof.  It amazes me how quickly water levels can change.
This bridge was underwater earlier in the day.  It is across the street from the trail.

Here is the corner of the bike trail.  It was also underwater, which is why it is a jumbled mess of trees.

More debris on the trail.

Here is the mighty little creek.

You can see how fast it is moving.

This is a picture of the bend in the bike trail.  It is pretty far back from the creek and it was still underwater.

Weekend of Parties

Luminex's Magpix Launch Party Friday night
Kyle and I with Los Lonely Boys performing in the background.  They were really good live, with some great guitar playing.  The next morning my neck hurt from all the head bobbing I was doing.  Yes, I know that means I'm old.
Very Pretty Cake AND they had a candy bar.  It was one of the highlights of the night, especially since our car didn't start after the party and we had to sit and wait in our car for AAA to come give us a jump start.  That candy made those 20 minutes go really quickly.
Happy Birthday Kyle!  We had another couple and their kids over on Sunday to have a low key early b-day celebration.  They helped us eat Kyle's ice cream cake.  It was a great time.  Monday, on Kyle's actual birthday we ate more cake and celebrated just as a family.
Blake gave Kyle some gumballs to refill his gumball machine (remember Fieleke family, that was his white elephant gift at Christmas).
Drew loves ice cream cake
