Pumpkin patch

On Saturday we decided to go to a pumpkin patch. There are some great ones about an hour drive away, but we were all kind of sick so we decided to try one that I'd heard about that was about 15-20 minute drive. I couldn't find anything about it online but someone on Blake's T-ball team had mentioned it. So we drove to where I thought this pumpkin patch was and couldn't find it. The clock was ticking because it was Drew's nap time so we ended up going to the one at a church 5 minutes from our house. Being that we had wasted 30-40 minutes driving back and forth from this nonexistent pumpkin patch, Drew was ready for nap time and not at all impressed with the pumpkin patch. No smiles for us. Blake liked picking out the pumpkins and getting to decorate his. Drew liked rolling the pumpkins around.

We were all a little under the weather this week so I couldn't go to the gym to work out and I couldn't go to Bible study. I was going stir crazy on Friday so I hooked up the bike trailer and took them for Drew's first bike ride.

Blake's 4th Birthday party

On Saturday Blake celebrated his 4th birthday! This was the first year we had a party for him in which friends were invited. It was an Incredible/superhero birthday party. We told the kids they could come dressed as their favorite superhero. We had capes and masks to decorate for anyone who didn't have a costume. Then we talked about superheroes and had them complete a series of superhero training exercises. They had a relay race, played hide and seek, did a long jump, and finally showed their super strength by knocking over a brick wall. The kids loved these games, especially the brick wall. Then we ate pizza. Now that they had successfully completed the training, they were given the assignment of breaking open the omnidroid robot pinata. We let the little ones hit first and the older ones go last. After lots of tries Kyle finally had to attempt it........and then after lots of tries he finally got it open. Who knew pinatas were so tough. Finally, we sang happy birthday and ate cupcakes. The weather was perfect and Blake really enjoyed his party. It was a blast!

Blake and Kyle on the Thomas Train

Blake and Kyle had a fun outing on Saturday to Burnet, Tx where they got to meet and ride on Thomas the Train. Blake also suckered Kyle in to buying a huge Thomas balloon and a new Thomas book. I think Blake had a pretty fun time. It was nice for the two of them to go and do something fun like that. While they were there, I picking up my good friend Jenny who flew in from Arizona to visit. We had a great time relaxing, watching chic flicks, getting pedicures and going out for a very yummy dinner. It rained the entire time she was here, but we needed the rain so I guess I shouldn't complain.

Our fun news is that Drew started walking! He's been taking lots of little steps, but they are for very short distances. Yesterday I looked up and he was walking all around the kitchen. I was shocked. He still prefers to crawl since he is so much faster, but I'm trying to encourage him to walk a little too.

First T-ball Game

Sorry it's crooked. It won't let me rotate it because these were from my parent's camera

Running to third base

Blake had his first t-ball game last Saturday. It was extremely comical. Blake hit the ball first try on both times up to bat, but the first time he hit he chased the ball instead of running to first. I guess we will need to work on what the goal of a baseball game is. They don't have outs and they don't keep score so it was just fun to watch. This week has been really uneventful except all the boys seem to have come down with some bug. So far I've managed to avoid it.
